The NEW WAVE Art Prize is a project created by the Bog’Art Foundation with the goal of discovering and supporting talented students from Art Universities and Faculties across Romania. The project is designed as a creative competition.
For the first edition, students were invited to express the emotions and experiences they had over the past six months—marked by major social conflicts and transformations—through works of art, whether painting, drawing, installation, or sculpture.
Out of the 57 submitted projects, seven were selected by a panel of experts to be featured in a special exhibition. Each finalist received a budget of €500 from the Bog’Art Foundation to bring their proposed idea to life. Ștefania Iakab, a student at the Faculty of Arts and Design within the West University of Timișoara, won the NEW WAVE Art Prize, impressing the jury with her sculptural series Alien Chic. She was awarded a €5,500 scholarship from the Bog’Art Foundation.
The award was presented on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, during the NEW WAVE Art Prize Grand Finale, an event organized as a vernissage at Catinca Tabacaru Gallery, where over 300 guests admired the works of the seven finalists.

NEW WAVE Art Prize Vernissage
The NEW WAVE Art Prize Grand Finale took the form of a vernissage hosted by Catinca Tabacaru Gallery, where more than 300 guests viewed and celebrated the works of the seven finalists.
The Bog’Art Foundation is committed to supporting talented young people and initiatives that contribute to the development of a vibrant cultural and artistic society.
By allocating funds and resources to institutions, organizations, and associations that carry out artistic and cultural activities—or through its own initiatives in these fields—as well as by offering scholarships and specialized support, the foundation aims to assist individuals with exceptional abilities and promote essential values for the future.
The foundation is also involved in fundraising efforts to support educational projects, health promotion, and environmental protection, with the main goal of reflecting its values within society.
